Family & Community Support
Program Overview
At Enhance Your Chance (EYC) Title I Community Development Center Inc., we recognize that strong families and connected communities are essential for lasting change. Our Family & Community Support Programs are designed to stabilize households, foster intergenerational relationships, and eliminate barriers to basic needs—ensuring every individual, regardless of circumstance, has a real chance to succeed. These programs align directly with EYC’s mission to empower individuals and transform communities through evidence-based approaches that address systemic barriers, promote equity, and strengthen community resilience.
Whether it’s supporting single parents, preventing homelessness, bridging transportation gaps, or combating isolation among seniors, each initiative under this pillar reflects EYC’s vision to serve as a catalyst for measurable systemic change. Our goal is to close opportunity gaps and build thriving, self-sustaining families and neighborhoods across the Gulf Coast and beyond.
Family & Community Support Programs

Single Parent Family Stabilization Program
This program supports single-parent households who face financial, emotional, and structural challenges that limit economic mobility and family well-being. EYC provides access to wraparound case management, financial literacy workshops, employment assistance, legal aid referrals, mental health resources, and parenting support. Families receive individualized action plans to stabilize housing, build sustainable income, and strengthen parenting capacity. The program also connects participants with peer support groups, mentoring, and community resources to ensure long-term self-sufficiency and resilience.

Housing Stability & Homelessness Prevention Program
EYC’s housing stability initiative focuses on keeping families in safe, affordable housing by addressing the root causes of housing insecurity. Services include financial counseling, and connections to emergency housing resources. The program also empowers participants through workshops on tenant rights, budgeting, and pathways to homeownership. Designed to prevent displacement and reduce generational housing instability, this initiative contributes directly to economic mobility and community stabilization—a cornerstone of EYC’s mission.

Mobility Access & Transportation Equity Program
Transportation is a critical—but often overlooked—barrier to opportunity. EYC’s Mobility Access & Transportation Equity Program provides safe, reliable, and affordable transportation to individuals who are elderly, disabled, low-income, or otherwise mobility-challenged. Services include rides to medical appointments, job interviews, grocery stores, and community events. The program helps reduce isolation, increase independence, and improve access to vital resources—creating more equitable pathways for full community participation.

Intergenerational Connection & Senior Support Services
This program bridges the gap between generations by creating mutually enriching relationships between youth, young adults, and seniors while ensuring older adults receive the support needed to age with dignity and connection. Services include friendly visits, intergenerational events, wellness checks, social-emotional support, technology literacy workshops, and resource navigation for housing, healthcare, and benefits. Participants are trained as service ambassadors and companions, learning empathy and leadership while seniors stay engaged, valued, and connected. The result: stronger, more resilient communities where wisdom and youthful energy come together to uplift all generations.
